The next round of trilateral talks was scheduled for this week, but the meeting has been postponed at the suggestion of the US.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing a statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

He spoke about the results of his meeting with the Ukrainian negotiating team. The next meeting with the US and Russia was discussed, which is being postponed due to the situation in the Middle East.

“It is important that we are in fact communicating with the American side 24/7. Currently, our partners’ priority and focus is on the situation surrounding Iran, and because of this, the meeting that was planned for this week at the suggestion of the American side has been postponed,” the president’s statement said.

At the same time, Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is ready for a meeting at any time in a format that “can help and will be realistic in terms of ending the war.”

“We see that the Russians are now trying to manipulate the situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region in favor of their aggression, as well as to turn the Iranian regime’s strikes on its neighbors and American bases into a second front in Russia’s war against Ukraine and, more broadly, against the entire West,” he stressed.

Ending the war in Ukraine

Recall that on March 6, White House press secretary Caroline Levitt said that US President Donald Trump still believes in the possibility of achieving peace in Ukraine.

In addition, Trump’s special representative Steve Witkoff also recently expressed optimism on this issue. According to him, work on the final document is ongoing and new results are expected in the coming weeks.

It should be noted that a few days ago, Donald Trump said that it was Volodymyr Zelensky who was allegedly hindering the achievement of a peace agreement. According to him, Ukraine is rapidly losing its bargaining position, while the Kremlin is allegedly ready for dialogue.
