President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva in New York. They discussed options for supporting Ukraine in the coming years. Zelensky said this on social media, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“We discussed the possibilities for using frozen Russian assets in favor of Ukraine and all possible options for cooperation, including a new program aimed at supporting the stability of our country in the coming years. We agreed on further close cooperation between the government of Ukraine and the IMF,” Zelensky wrote.
The interlocutors also paid special attention to Russia’s violations of the airspace of NATO member states, in particular on September 22 in Copenhagen.
“We exchanged views on the reasons. If there is no decisive response from the allies – states and institutions – to aggressive provocations, Russia will continue them,” the Head of State noted.
He thanked Georgieva for her attention to Ukraine and the IMF for programs that help strengthen Ukraine’s economy.
During his visit to the United States, Zelenskyy also met with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. They discussed ways to end the war, security guarantees, and economic cooperation between the two countries.
