President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has changed the composition of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff, introducing the Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the First Deputy Minister of Defense and Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Presidential Decree No. 434/2025.
“To approve Mykhailo Vasylovych Drapatyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as a member of the Supreme Command Staff,” the decree reads.
The same decree also appointed First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Serhiy Boyev and Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Hennadiy Shapovalov to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff.
Earlier, Mykhailo Drapaty was in charge of the Land Forces. He resigned amid a series of occupiers’ attacks on Ukrainian training grounds.
The major general announced his decision after the Russians attacked the 239th training ground of the Land Forces. The attack resulted in the deaths and many wounded defenders.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy decided to give Drapatyi a new position. He now heads the Joint Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
