The government has allocated an additional UAH 1.5 billion to strengthen the protection of the energy infrastructure of Ukraine’s frontline regions.
This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on social media, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“A reserve of equipment has been formed for the prompt restoration of power supply, and we will increase this reserve,” Zelensky said.
He also emphasized that the government will soon adopt a resolution that will maintain a fixed price for natural gas for household consumers. A moratorium on disconnecting consumers from energy supply in frontline communities has already been decided.
Zelenskyy emphasized: “Despite all the challenges, we must support the communities that are having the hardest time.”
It is worth noting that the price of gas for household consumers has remained unchanged over the past few years. More than 98% of household gas consumers (more than 12 million households) use the tariff of UAH 7.96 per cubic meter from Naftogaz of Ukraine. This price is fixed until April 30, 2026 inclusive.
