President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on US President-elect Donald Trump’s promise to end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours. He said this at a press conference following the summit of the European Political Community in Budapest, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

Zelensky noted that he did have good conversations with Trump, who recently won the election. But he noted that they should be more substantive and that both sides need to prepare for this.

“As for a quick end to the war, today I believe that Trump really wants a quick solution. Wanting doesn’t mean it will work. I’m not making any accusations. I’m just saying that we are where we are. We are at war with the Russians, and this is the most difficult enemy of this century…” the president explained.

At the same time, the Head of State emphasized that he wanted a fair end to the war.

“I am sure that a quick end to the war means losses. I think that if it’s too fast, I don’t know this idea, we haven’t talked about it with Trump, I think he will prepare his views with his team, all this is ahead. All I know now is that he really wants an ending. We want a just ending, because it’s a horror and a tragedy, this whole war. But if it’s just quick, then it’s a loss for Ukraine,” he summarized.

As you know, Trump has repeatedly stated that if he becomes president of the United States, he will end the war in Ukraine in a day.

According to Trump, he would conclude a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia in one day.
