Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appealed to Western allies on his Telegram channel to provide missiles for air defense systems amid strikes by Russian forces, Komersant reports.

According to him, over the past week, “more than 1,300 strike drones, about 1,050 guided aerial bombs, and 29 missiles of various types” were launched at Ukraine. In this regard, the head of state is asking for “greater protection.”

“If Russia deliberately drags out the diplomatic process, the world’s response must be decisive: more aid to Ukraine and more pressure on the aggressor. I thank all our partners who are with us now, who are ready to help protect lives and strengthen Ukraine, to work together to restore security,” Zelensky said.

The politician also called the situation in the country’s energy sector “difficult.” According to him, energy facilities in Sumy, Kharkiv, Odesa, Khmelnytskyi, and other regions are being restored.

Russian troops began striking Ukraine’s military and energy infrastructure in October 2022. Since then, air raid alerts have been declared regularly in various regions of Ukraine, sometimes across the entire country.
