Zelenskyy meets with candidates for the head of the OP: what is known

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that a decision on the new head of the Presidential Office will be made soon. This is stated in his statement, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
According to Zelenskyy, additional interviews with candidates for the post of head of the Office of the President took place today. During the meetings, they discussed
- the possible format of the Presidential Office,
- the necessary interaction with other state institutions,
- tasks related to the management and coordination of state policy.
The President emphasized that the choice of a new head should meet the needs of the state in the context of a long war and a difficult internal situation.
When will the decision be announced?
Zelenskyy said that the decision would be made in the near future.
He did not name specific candidates or specify a timeframe, but emphasized that the selection process is already in its final stages.
The position of the head of the Presidential Office is one of the key positions in the government. It is the head of the OP:
- coordinates the work of the main state institutions,
- ensures communication between the president and the government, parliament, and the security forces,
- is responsible for political strategy, decision-making, and crisis management.
In times of war, the role of the Presidential Office is even more important, so the appointment of a new head may affect the speed of decision-making, defense policy, and communications within the state.
What is known about possible candidates?
No names have been officially announced.
However, the growing number of private interviews and statements by the president indicate that the choice has been narrowed to a few candidates.
As a reminder, Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Andriy Yermak from his position as head of the Presidential Office.
Shortly before Zelenskyy’s decision, Yermak wrote a letter of resignation after NABU and SAPO conducted searches at the head of the Presidential Office.
Zelenskyy later said that he intended to hold additional consultations to appoint a new head of the Presidential Office upon his return to Ukraine.
