Zelensky denies US media reports on Ukrainian Armed Forces losses

The American media reported that Ukraine had lost 80,000 soldiers at the front. However, this information is not true. The number of Ukrainian military defenders killed is less. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr in an interview with Kyodo News, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

“Someone recently reported in the American press that 80,000 Ukrainians were killed. But I want to tell you that no, it’s less. Much less,” Zelensky said.

At the same time, he noted that it is currently unknown exactly how many Ukrainians died in the temporarily occupied territories.

“During the occupation, there were civilians, the military, law enforcement officers, employees of utilities, representatives of the authorities, etc. And I don’t know how many of them died, how many were lost, how many were tortured in captivity, etc. That is why I am only talking about recording the military that are on our territory, that we control,” the president added.

Earlier, The Wall Street Journal wrote that the number of killed and wounded Ukrainians and Russians participating in the war allegedly reached about 1 million.

According to the journalists, 80,000 Ukrainian soldiers and 200,000 Russian soldiers were allegedly killed in the fighting.
