Zelensky responds to petition to legalize porn industry: the decision is up to the parliament

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to an electronic petition in which citizens called for the decriminalization of adult content production. The petition collected more than 25 thousand signatures, which allowed it to be submitted to the head of state.
This is stated on the official website of electronic petitions, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
In his response, Zelensky thanked the authors and signatories of the initiative, emphasizing that in Ukraine, changes to legislation are adopted exclusively by the Verkhovna Rada.
The President reminded that the relevant bill No. 12191, which provides for amendments to Article 301 of the Criminal Code, has already been registered in the Parliament.
The document proposes to retain criminal liability only for the distribution of pornography among minors or for the purpose of selling it to minors.
Zelensky also noted that he had submitted the proposals from the petition to the Verkhovna Rada for consideration when drafting the bill.
