Zelensky made an encouraging statement: it is possible to end the war

In his evening address on December 3, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that today the world has a real sense that it is possible to end the war. However, this requires the right combination – active diplomatic contacts and increased pressure on Russia, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
According to the head of state, international negotiations are at a stage when constructive diplomacy should be combined with clear signals to the Kremlin.
“Everything depends on this combination – constructive diplomacy plus pressure on the aggressor. Both components work for peace,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
He emphasized that Western partners are aware of the need for quick and effective solutions, and the current global attention to the process creates a window of opportunity.
Preparing for new talks in the United States
The President also said that Ukraine is preparing for the next stage of consultations with the United States. Following the return of the American delegation from Moscow and internal discussions in Washington, talks with President Donald Trump’s team will continue.
They will be attended by:
- nSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov,
- chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov,
- and other key representatives of the defense and diplomatic bloc.
Zelenskyy noted that the relevant meetings – both in person and in the format of telephone consultations – could take place in the coming days.
Geneva and Florida: a signal of the process’ effectiveness
The President emphasized that the negotiations in Geneva and Florida had been constructive and Ukraine’s position had been heard.
“Ukraine is being listened to. And it is important. Only if Ukraine’s interests are taken into account, a decent peace is possible,” he said.
According to him, the current diplomatic activity demonstrates progress, and Kyiv expects such interaction with partners to continue.
