Horrific footage from Kyiv: a rocket destroyed an entrance, 52 wounded, 6 dead

After many hours of shelling with attack drones, on the night of July 31, the Russians struck again at Kyiv, this time with cruise missiles. As of this morning, there are 6 dead, 52 injured, and almost 30 in hospitals. Among them, 9 children were injured. This was reported by the head of the KCIA Timur Tkachenko, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and the State Emergency Service, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

The most serious damage was recorded in the Svyatoshinsky district, where a rocket destroyed a residential entrance.

Tkachenko reported 6 dead. Of these, 4 were in Svyatoshynskyi district and 2 in Solomianskyi district. Among the dead is a child, a six-year-old boy. As of the morning, there are 52 victims, almost 30 in hospitals. Among them are 9 children.

In addition, a school, a kindergarten, and a hospital in different districts of the capital were damaged by the strikes.

The mayor noted that all emergency services are actively working at the scene. He added that the attack also affected many non-residential buildings in the capital, where fires and destruction occurred. Residential apartments and cars were damaged in Solomyansky district, while educational institutions, including a school and a kindergarten, were damaged in Holosiivsky district. In Shevchenkivskyi district, the blast wave damaged the windows of the children’s department of a hospital.

Medical aid was provided promptly: 20 victims were treated on the spot, and eight of them needed hospitalization. Ambulance crews continue to respond to calls.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that there may be people under the rubble of a house in Sviatoshynskyi district, and rescue operations are ongoing.

A search and rescue operation is underway in the Sviatoshynskyi district. All services are working on the spot.

Traffic in the capital is partially blocked as a result of the night attack

Passenger transport is running with changes in traffic:

  • bus #69 in the direction of the Palace of Sports metro station – Vasyl Kucher Street – Volodymyr Pokotyla Street – Lesya Kurbasa Avenue, then on its own route;
  • trolleybus No. 27 in the direction of the Kyiv-Volynskyi metro station – to the Industrial overpass;
  • bus No. 9 in the direction of Vakhtanga Kikabidze Street and bus No. 14-T in the direction of Vidradnyi Avenue – Akademika Shalimova Street – Liubomyr Huzara Avenue, then on its own routes;
  • bus No. 2 – Vidradnyi Ave. without stopping at Kyiv-Volynskyi station.

According to the Patrol Police, the following streets are also blocked:

  • vaclav Havel street (from the intersection with Akademika Shalimova street);
  • yuriy Matushchak lane (from the intersection with Volnovakha street);
  • ivan Dziuba street (from the intersection with Vasyl Domanytsky street to the intersection with Vasyl Kucher street);
  • post-Volynska Street (from the intersection with Vidradnyi Avenue to the intersection with Novopolova Street);
  • akademika Shalimova street (from the intersection with Zalisna street);
  • volnovakha Street (from the intersection with Vaclav Havel Boulevard).
