New election banners of the ruling Georgian Dream party have appeared in Georgia. The political force used images of Ukrainian cities destroyed by Russian troops for its election campaign, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

In particular, a series of posters and a video were presented in which Ukrainian cities destroyed by the Russians are compared to flourishing Georgian cities and new infrastructure facilities. Voters are urged to “choose peace” and say “no to war”.

The Georgian Dream party confirmed that these banners are part of their election campaign, which aims to remind citizens “where the opposition is leading the country”.

In contrast, Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili sharply criticised the new banners, calling them “shameful and insulting to the culture, traditions, history and faith of Georgia”.

“How pathetic do you have to be to shamelessly offer your people a poster created in the KGB forge?”

– wrote Zurabishvili, who herself came to power with the support of the Georgian Dream and once claimed that the Russian-Georgian war was started not by Russia but by Georgia.
