A petition to reduce the mobilisation age to 50 has received the required number of votes. Now it must be considered by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

The author of the petition, Andriy Azarov, proposed to reduce the mobilisation age in Ukraine from 60 to 50. In his opinion, this decision will improve the economic situation in the country.

The petition has already received 25,289 votes out of the 25,000 required.

According to the procedure, it must now be considered by Vladimir Zelensky. After that, his response will be posted on the website.

As a reminder, on 2 April, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the law “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine ‘On Military Duty and Military Service'”. The draft age was reduced from 27 to 25 years.

The issue of demobilisation remains an open question. According to the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence, Dmitry Lazutkin, this issue depends on many theoretical and practical factors , including possible mobilisation in Russia and changes in the situation on the battlefield due to Western support.

However, Fedir Venislavskyi believes that demobilisation is not to be expected at all.

Nevertheless, a number of MPs have registered a draft law on demobilisation. However, it remains to be seen whether it will be put to a vote in the Verkhovna Rada.
