Destroyed tracks and damaged wagons: the consequences of Russia’s attacks on the railroad

At night and in the morning of May 28, Russian troops attacked the railway infrastructure in Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Sumy regions. This was reported by the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
In the Kharkiv region, the wreckage of a UAV fell on the tracks. Railroad workers temporarily blocked traffic to allow police and rescuers to neutralize the remains of the drone. Train traffic was quickly restored.
In Sloviansk, Donetsk region, the contact network was damaged as a result of the fighting. FPV drone fragments also damaged the glass in an electric train car. In the morning, Sloviansk came under another Russian shelling. Windows in the station building were damaged.
In the Sumy region, a Russian drone slightly damaged a railroad track, but traffic on the section is running smoothly.
In all cases, there were no casualties or injuries among employees and passengers, Ukrzaliznytsia said.
