Ukrainian Armed Forces clear 6 more settlements of Donetsk region from occupants: list

As of Monday, August 18, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have made progress in several areas. In particular, they managed to liberate several settlements in the Donetsk region from Russian invaders. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“From August 4 to 17, as a result of joint actions of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard, which are part of the First Corps of the Azov National Guard, the following settlements were cleared in Donetsk region: Hruzke, Rubizhne, Novovodyane, Petrivka, Vesele, Zolotyi Kolodyaz,” the statement said.

The Ukrainian military added that as a result of active operations in the corps’ operational area, the enemy suffered significant losses in manpower.

According to the information as of August 17, these are

  • irretrievable – 984 people,
  • sanitary – 355 people,
  • captured – 37 people.

“During this period, 11 tanks of the Russian occupiers, eight armored combat vehicles, 112 units of motor vehicles, one multiple launch rocket system, 22 cannons and 106 drones of various types were destroyed and damaged,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine listed.

It stated that stabilization operations are underway in the direction of Dobropillya in Donetsk region.

“The occupants continue to surrender. Yesterday, units of the Defense Forces captured seven Russian servicemen,” the Ukrainian military said.

Also last week, the Seventh Air Assault Corps and adjacent units cleared the city of Pokrovsk from enemy groups and individual occupants.

“Yesterday, as a result of active actions, Ukrainian units advanced in several locations and consolidated their positions,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces summarized.
