Ukraine has launched a counteroffensive in the Kursk region (Russia). This was announced on January 5 by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalenko, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

“In the Kursk region, the Russians are very worried because they were attacked in several directions and it was a surprise for them. The defense forces are working,” Kovalenko wrote on his Telegram channel.

Also, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, wrote briefly about the “good news” in this area.

“Kurshchyna, good news, Russia is getting what it deserves,” Yermak wrote.

At the same time, a number of Russian propaganda outlets reported attacks by the Defense Forces in the Kursk region.

Thus, according to the so-called “military commander” Roman Alyokhin, the Armed Forces began advancing in the northeastern direction from Suzha, targeting the area of Velyky Soldatsky.

“In the offensive, the enemy is using mine-clearing trawls, tanks and other armored vehicles. The enemy has tightly covered the attack area with electronic warfare, so many drones are useless,” Alyokhin wrote on Telegram.

Z-blogger Serhiy Kolyasnikov cites similar data.

“The area is covered by some kind of powerful electronic warfare, nothing is flying at all. There are trawls, followed by tanks and armored vehicles, about ten units,” Kolyasnikov said.

The WarGonzo channel, citing sources from the scene, reports a significant number of Ukrainian vehicles involved in the offensive in the Kursk region.
