On Sunday, December 14, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy began a meeting in Berlin with Trump’s representatives to end the war. The parties continue to work on a peace plan.
RBC-Ukraine reports this with reference to the President’s Telegram and the media.
According to the media, Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian delegation, as well as Trump’s special representative Steve Witkoff and US President Jared Kushner’s son-in-law, were met by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
The meeting is taking place at the Federal Chancellor’s building in Berlin. The President of Ukraine has already confirmed the start of negotiations.
“We started the meeting,” he wrote on Telegram.
A few hours before the talks, Zelenskyy said that work was underway on every item in the draft.
“There are many important details, we are working carefully on each point of each draft. The main thing is that all the steps we agree with our partners can really work for the sake of guaranteed security. Only reliable guarantees will work for peace. We hope that our partners will also continue to work constructively,” he said in the post.
As a reminder, the United States, Ukraine, and Europe have been finalizing the American peace plan for almost a month now, which in its original version was clearly in favor of Russia.
