Journalists from danwatch have gained access to secret drawings of Russian nuclear facilities. As it turned out, these materials were published by Russia itself in tender documents, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

In particular, reporters found detailed diagrams of the Strategic Missile Forces base in the city of Yasny, Orenburg region, among hundreds of public procurement documents. Russia uses 11 such facilities for storing nuclear weapons, most of which have been expanded and updated.

According to the materials obtained, the facilities are equipped with a multi-level security system. Remote-controlled machine guns and grenade launchers, air defense systems, three lines of electric fences, and sensors for detecting seismic activity and radiation are installed along the perimeter. The buildings are protected by reinforced concrete walls, explosion-proof doors and windows, magnetic contacts, and infrared sensors.

The documentation reveals the internal architecture of the bases, showing the location of warehouses for protective equipment and weapons, command posts, and underground passages between the premises. The materials even include everyday details, such as where the military eat, rest, train, and have leisure time.

Tom Reseth, an expert on Russian defense policy at the Norwegian Defense Academy, believes that the documents confirm the reality of the modernization of Russia’s strategic nuclear forces and the existence of concrete actions behind official statements about new weapons.

A former British military intelligence officer characterized the leak as a “significant breakthrough in Russia’s security procedures” that could leave military bases vulnerable to external threats.
