“Winter Support”: the number of applications for UAH 1000 exceeded 13 million

As of November 27, more than 13 million Ukrainians have applied for UAH 1,000 in assistance under the government’s Winter Support program. Among them, 4 million people have already received funds on the National Cashback card.
This was stated by Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity Tetyana Kiriyenko during the telethon “United News”, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports citing Delo.ua.
“The vast majority of Ukrainians, as expected, choose online: more than 11 million applications have already been made through the Diia app. In addition, almost 2 million citizens will receive assistance automatically along with pensions and social benefits through Ukrposhta,” said Kyrienko.
She reminded that the state does not give out cash under this program. Payments are transferred to special accounts and can only be used for certain categories of expenses.
What is known about the “Winter Support”
The funds received under the Winter Support program on the National Cashback card can be used for the following categories of goods and services
- utilities
- postal services;
- food products in stores and supermarkets;
- medicines and medical devices;
- books and other printed materials;
- charity – in particular, donations to the Armed Forces and other charitable purposes.
The government expects 10 to 14 million Ukrainians to benefit from the program. The expected budget expenditures will amount to about UAH 14 billion.
“Winter support: how to get money
All Ukrainians staying in the country can apply for a one-time financial assistance of UAH 1,000 under the Winter Support program. Applications for children are submitted by parents or guardians.
Ukrainians can apply for assistance through the Diia app. After submitting an application, you will receive a notification about the processing of the application and the order for payment. The funds will be transferred to the National Cashback card.
