$2 billion in support: six NATO countries unite to buy weapons for Ukraine from the United States

Six NATO countries have funded four defense assistance packages for Ukraine worth more than $2 billion under the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative. Two more packages are currently being agreed with the United States.
This was reported by the President’s Office at , "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
It is noted that the first aid package worth $578 million was funded by the Netherlands, the second by Denmark, Norway and Sweden for $495 million, the third by Germany for $500 million, and the fourth for $500 million by Canada.
Delivery of the first two packages began in mid-September, and the United States has already finalized the content of the third and fourth packages with Canada and Germany.
“The program is working, it is very active, it is the program that allows us to buy American weapons at the expense of our partners in the Alliance. And these are things like missiles for Patriot, missiles for HIMARS,” President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.
Currently, the US side is finalizing the fifth and sixth packages with Ukraine, and work has begun on the seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth packages. Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Luxembourg, Belgium, and Iceland have declared their readiness to contribute to the fifth package.
In addition, Ukraine expects to add to the program in October, with the overall goal of adding a billion dollars a month.
