42-year-old head of Cherkasy regional prosecutor’s office declares pension of over a million hryvnias

The head of the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor’s Office , Kateryna Shevtsova, declared a pension of over a million hryvnias in 2023. The official is only 42 years old, reports "Komersant Ukrainian"
According to the declaration, Kateryna Shevtsova owns a 104.2 m² apartment in Kharkiv, which she bought in 2011. She also rents an 80.2 m² apartment in Cherkasy. In addition, the official owns a 2019 Toyota Camry, which was purchased in 2021 for UAH 618,125.
Shevtsova’s monetary assets amount to UAH 429,556 on her PrivatBank accounts and UAH 750,000 in cash.
Last year, the official worked in three regional prosecutor’s offices – Kharkiv, Vinnytsia and Cherkasy – where she earned a total of UAH 2,257,787.
However, as it turned out, 42-year-old Shevtsova also receives a pension. Thus, last year she received UAH 785,435 in pension income, i.e. about UAH 65,000 per month. It is worth noting that pensions can be granted not only on the basis of length of service, but also, for example, on the basis of disability, but in such cases, the amount is usually much smaller. Moreover, Shevtsova does not appear to be a person with a disability.

Kateryna Shevtsova’s career path
Kateryna Shevtsova was born on 20 August 1982 in Kharkiv. She received her law degree from the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law Academy of Ukraine and started her professional career at the Prosecutor’s Office in 2004.
She made her first steps in the prosecutor’s office as an assistant inter-district transport prosecutor in Kharkiv. Later, she was promoted to Assistant City Prosecutor, Senior Assistant Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor, and supervised compliance with environmental legislation. She has worked in various departments of the Kharkiv Region Prosecutor’s Office, was Deputy Prosecutor of the Leninsky District of Kharkiv, Head and First Deputy Head of Local Prosecutor’s Office No. 1 in Kharkiv, and headed the Dergachiv District Prosecutor’s Office. Prior to her appointment to Cherkasy region, she served as Deputy Head of the Vinnytsia Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
on 31 October 2023, Kateryna Shevtsova was appointed to the position of the Head of the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
She has received a number of awards for her work in the prosecutor’s office, including the badges “For Conscientious Service in the Prosecutor’s Office” and “Honorary Worker of the Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine”. She holds a PhD in Law.
