After Biden’s debate with Trump, more and more voters believe that the current president should not run, reports "Komersant Ukrainian"

According to a new CBS News poll conducted after the first debate between US President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, the number of Americans who doubt Biden’s cognitive abilities and his readiness for re-election is growing.

Almost three-quarters of voters now have doubts about Biden’s mental health, including many in his own party. 72% of respondents believe that Biden should not run for president at all.

After the debate, a significant number of Democrats (almost half) believe that Biden should give way to another Democratic candidate in the 2024 elections.

Trump, although he received better marks, still raises doubts among half of the electorate about his cognitive abilities.

However, the majority of voters believe that during the debates, Trump presented his ideas more clearly, looked more presidential, and explained his policies better.

The poll also showed that Biden failed to convince voters that a second term in office would improve their financial situation. Trump is still perceived as the better candidate in this regard.

The debate between the US presidential candidates turned out to be a failure for Biden, after which the Democratic Party began to discuss his replacement as a candidate for the presidential election.
