9 regions without electricity: Ukrenergo appeals to Ukrainians

The bad weather left 508 settlements in nine regions of Ukraine without power. At the same time, the country has seen an increase in electricity consumption. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Ukrenergo.
“Due to unfavorable weather conditions (thunderstorms, hail, strong gusts of wind), 508 settlements in nine regions were completely or partially de-energized in the morning. The regional power company’s crews are carrying out emergency repair work to restore power to all subscribers as soon as possible,” the statement said.
The power company also explained that the level of electricity consumption at 9:30 am was 2.5% higher than on Friday. The reasons were the traditional increase in load at the beginning of the week and cloudy weather, which reduces the efficiency of home solar stations.
“Last night we recorded the daily maximum consumption, which exceeded the figures for last Sunday by 3.5%. This is due to high temperatures and the massive use of air conditioners,” Ukrenergo said.
At the same time, the country’s power system continues to recover from large-scale Russian attacks. Emergency repair work is still underway at many power facilities.
Ukrenergo urged Ukrainians to use electricity sparingly and to shift the use of powerful appliances to the daytime – from 10:00 to 18:00, when the system is less loaded.
