Albania – Ukraine: where to watch the broadcast
19 November 2024 11:47
Today in Tirana at the Air Albania Stadium, the match of the last round of the group stage of the Nations League of the 2024/2025 season in Group B1 between the national teams of Albania and Ukraine will take place. The game is scheduled to start at 21:45 Kyiv time.
Tournament position

Before the final round, Ukraine ranks last in the standings and no longer has even a theoretical chance of winning the group. After all, even if Ukraine wins today and the Czech Republic loses, the Czech Republic will still be ahead of Ukraine in head-to-head matches.
Instead, Ukraine can take the last place and be relegated to Division C, where such football giants as Gibraltar, the Faroe Islands, Liechtenstein, and Andorra play.
However, the second place in the group will give Ukraine the opportunity to compete for promotion to Division A in the transition matches. But from the third place, it will have to fight with the teams of Division C for the right to stay in the B League.
So Ukraine can achieve diametrically opposite results today. At the same time, it is imperative to win, because even a draw guarantees relegation to Division C.
If Ukraine wins, it all depends on the outcome of Georgia’s parallel match with the Czech Republic. Ukrainians should root for the Czechs here. If the Georgians don’t win, then (assuming Ukraine wins) our team will take second place and play in the playoffs for promotion to the top division. If the Georgians win, then Ukraine, even if it wins in Albania, will compete to keep its place in League B.

Statements from the teams’ camps
Ukraine’s coach Serhiy Rebrov believes that the Ukrainian players in the national team are playing at their level. Does this mean that the national team’s level is fourth in the group?

“I don’t think our players are not showing their level. At the national team level, we play against the best players from each country. For example, tomorrow we will face Albania, most of whose players played at the Euros and play in the top leagues,”
– said Rebrov at the pre-match press conference.
Albania’s coach Silvigno, on the other hand, seems more determined to win.
“Of course, we expect to win, because we will play with the support of our home stands. But we also respect Ukraine. This is a tough opponent. We need to play one of our best matches because we still have a chance to win the group,”
– he said.
Ukraine’s forward Roman Yaremchuk seems to be more combative than Rebrov.

“We are playing away, such matches are always different from home matches. Albania is a pretty powerful team. They have a good striker, a good defense line, and discipline in defense. We also have enough skilled players who can decide the fate of the match. We will focus on the fact that we need to win. Hopefully, we will have goal-scoring chances to realize them,”
– yaremchuk said.
Who will win?
Despite the terrible performance of the Ukrainian national team this fall, bookmakers still consider it the favorite in the match against a nice Albanian team. Ukraine’s odds are 2.20, Albania’s odds are 3.10, and the draw is 3.25.
