Alternative solutions: Ukrainians told how to prepare for winter without electricity

In the winter of 2024-2025, the electricity deficit will be almost 35%, which will result in Ukrainians having electricity for only up to six hours a day. This was stated by YASNO CEO Serhiy Kovalenko during a national telethon, reports "Komersant Ukrainian".

He drew attention to the need to be prepared for such a situation. According to Kovalenko, there will definitely be a deficit, and the only question now is its size.

It is difficult to predict generation instability due to the uncertainty of summer conditions. Kovalenko said that if generation and imports remain at the same level, the deficit will reach 35%, and if you subtract critical infrastructure, it could lead to a power cut for 6-7 hours.

He also stressed that household consumers and businesses should prepare for a significant electricity shortage by using alternative solutions such as batteries of various formats, solar panels, generators and other energy sources.

It should be noted that tomorrow, 18 June, blackout schedules will be in effect from 00:00 to 24:00 throughout Ukraine. The reason for this is an increase in consumption due to warming and working days. At the same time, the power supply to critical infrastructure facilities will not be limited.
