The visit of Hollywood actress and UN Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie to Mykolaiv region has caused a real sensation on social media. While the Southern Ukrainian Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TSC) is preparing an official comment, Ukrainians have already created a wave of jokes and memes on the topic, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Jolie’s visit to Ukraine
According to local media reports, Angelina Jolie was in Ukraine on a humanitarian mission – it’s not the first time the actress has visited our cities affected by the war.
This time, Jolie did not inform the Ukrainian authorities of her intention to visit Ukraine. She crossed the border on foot, Politico reported, citing an unnamed Ukrainian official.
This time, she visited Kherson, where she visited a maternity hospital and a children’s hospital.
The star’s trip to the military registration and enlistment office
It is noted that at night, two SUVs were stopped at the entrance to the city. During the document check, one of the men had problems, after which representatives of the National Guard decided to take him to the military commissariat. Despite attempts to explain that he was accompanying an “important person,” the military insisted on following the procedure.
Then the entire motorcade with Angelina headed to the TCC in Pivdenoukrainska, Mykolaiv region.
To resolve the situation with the security guard, Jolie entered the shopping center herself. A video of the actress was even posted online.
“It’s true about Jolie’s bodyguard. He was indeed taken to the shopping center and wanted to be mobilized,” commented MP Oleksiy Honcharenko.
The media immediately assumed that the Hollywood star personally decided to “pull” the man out of the building.
In turn, TSN, citing sources in the Land Forces Command, writes that the actress did not “pull” anyone out, Jolie herself entered the SEC and asked to use the restroom. The media outlet notes that there was no question of a citizen being detained by force.
“Angelina Jolie is fine, she did visit the TCC and the JV. She stopped by and asked to use the restroom. As for her bodyguard, he is a reserve officer. No one detained him by force. He was invited to visit the TCC and JV. They identified him, and then he calmly went about his business. There were no problematic issues. Everything was within the law,” the media outlet reported.
