The Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA), at the request of the State Bureau of Investigation, has traced the assets of officials of the former Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine, reports "Komersant Ukrainian".

According to the investigation, officials of the ministry artificially created obstacles to the implementation of the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the operation of gas distribution systems, facilitating payment evasion for the use of state property. As a result of these actions, the state budget lost UAH 1.488 billion between May 2017 and December 2020.

“Our specialists have already identified the first assets of the defendants in the case: 3 residential and non-residential properties, 4 land plots and 2 vehicles. We are also waiting for a response from banking institutions on the availability of accounts and funds on them,” said Pavlo Velykorechanin, Deputy Head of the ARMA.

He added that all information about the assets has already been transferred to the pre-trial investigation body to take measures to seize the identified assets and then transfer them to the management of the ARMA.

High-profile cases of the Asset Recovery and Management Agency

Currently, ARMA manages the corporate rights of 26 gas distribution system operators, which were once transferred to JSC SJSC Chornomornaftogaz in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers’ order. These are 26 regional gas companies owned by Dmitry Firtash. According to the results of 2022, the manager, Chornomornaftogaz JSC, paid UAH 172 million to the state budget from asset management. The manager also guaranteed to pay over UAH 500 million from the management of these assets in 2023. At the end of June 2024, the HACCU decision lifted the arrest on Firtash’s oblgases. However, due to the coordinated operational actions of the ARMA and law enforcement agencies, the seizure of 26 regional gas companies owned by Dmitry Firtash was reinstated.

The Asset Recovery and Management Agency has successfully sold the first 16 paintings from the seized collection of the traitor Viktor Medvedchuk through the Prozorro.Sale system. The total amount from the sale of the paintings amounted to almost 317 thousand hryvnias. [Kommersant]reported. Currently, 120 paintings are waiting for their new owners during the next auction. The ARMA announced its intention to sell some of the paintings every day. Potential buyers can follow the updates on Prozorro.Sale.
