On the night of July 4 , Kyiv came under another massive attack from Russia. As a result of the shelling, 23 residents of the capital were injured, 14 of whom were hospitalized, and 5 received outpatient care. This was announced by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko on his Telegram channel in the morning, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“At this time, according to doctors, there are 23 victims of the enemy’s attack on the capital. 14 of them were hospitalized. Others were treated on an outpatient basis or on the spot,” the mayor said.

What happened?

The capital was attacked by Russian drones and missiles. As a result of the attack, debris fell in different parts of Kyiv, fires broke out, and infrastructure was partially damaged.

Rescuers are eliminating the consequences in several districts at once.

Solomensky district: the attack partially destroyed a 5-story building. A fire broke out on the roof of a 7-storey building over an area of 2000 square meters. There were fires in a warehouse building, on the territory of a service station and a garage cooperative. A lot of civilian infrastructure was damaged.

Svyatoshynskyi district: a fire broke out in a 14-storey residential building as a result of a hit. Cars also caught fire. Several fires in non-residential buildings are being extinguished.

Shevchenkivskyi district: an unoccupied 8-storey building was attacked by a UAV, and the first floor was destroyed.

In Darnytsia and Holosiivskyi districts, fragments of enemy UAVs fell.

Information about the victims is being clarified.

More than 450 rescuers and about 100 units of equipment of the State Emergency Service are involved in the aftermath of the shelling in Kyiv.

Appeal to residents

Klitschko urged Kyiv residents not to ignore air raid warnings and to immediately go to the shelter in case of danger.

As a reminder, Kyiv has been subject to missile and drone attacks for several nights in a row. Ukrainian air defense defends most of the targets, but the wreckage of downed objects often falls in residential areas.
