Azerbaijan allocates $2 million for humanitarian aid to Ukraine

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree to allocate USD 2 million for humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The funds will be used to restore the power system damaged by Russian attacks. This is stated in a statement by the press service of the President of Azerbaijan, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Azerbaijan will provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine in the form of electrical equipment to be purchased at the expense of the state budget. President Ilham Aliyev’s reserve fund will be used to allocate $2 million.
These funds will be received by the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan, which is responsible for the purchase and delivery of the equipment.
“I hereby decree that for the purchase and shipment of electrical equipment manufactured in the Republic of Azerbaijan to provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan shall be allocated the equivalent of 2.0 (two) million US dollars from the reserve fund of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan provided for in the state budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025,” Aliyev’s order reads.
The Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan is obliged to provide funding, and the Cabinet of Ministers must “resolve issues arising from this Order”.
