No heating or water: Verkhovna Rada switches to remote working mode
20 January 12:11
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (VRU) is working remotely today, January 20.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to a post by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak on Telegram.
On the morning of Tuesday, January 20, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak (from the Voice faction) published information on his Telegram channel “Iron MP” about the “working format” of the VRU Secretariat.
“Given that for some reason there is active interest in this topic,” he noted.
According to the MP, today the Verkhovna Rada Secretariat will “work remotely” due to the lack of:
- heating;
- water.
“Due to shelling (of Kyiv, – Ed.),” Zheleznyak explained.
Finally, the MP noted that specifically in his office, “yes, there was almost no heating.”
“And somewhere around 12 degrees (the air temperature in the room, – Ed.),” the politician shared.
Consequences of the Russian Federation’s night attack on Kyiv
On the night of January 20, Russia once again attacked Kyiv, using ballistic missiles and drones. Powerful explosions were heard in the city, causing problems with electricity and water supply in some locations.
Damage was reported in various districts of Kyiv.
As a result of the shelling, the city authorities were even forced to make changes to the timetables of some metro lines (due to the consequences of the attack and power outages that affected train operations).
In the morning after the nighttime combined strike, 5,635 apartment buildings in Kyiv were left without heat, and the entire left bank of the city was left without water supply.
More than 335,000 Kyiv residents were left without electricity as a result of the Russian Federation’s nighttime attack on the capital’s energy facilities.
