The administration of US President Donald Trump has concluded that most of Elon Musk’s SpaceX contracts with the federal government cannot be terminated because they are critical to the country’s Department of Defense and the US National Aerospace Agency (NASA).
This was reported on Sunday, July 20, by The Wall Street Journal. Government contracts of the billionaire’s company were checked for misuse of funds, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
In addition, according to WSJ sources, the initial analysis only confirmed that SpaceX is the world’s leading rocket launch operator and one of the key providers of satellite Internet.
Elon Musk and other SpaceX representatives did not respond to the WSJ’s request for comment.
In June, Reuters reported that the White House had initiated a detailed review of multibillion-dollar contracts with SpaceX amid a public conflict between Donald Trump and Elon Musk. According to media reports, the total value of the company’s government contracts is about $22 billion.
