The Ruslan Shostak Charitable Foundation is launching the project Family. From Orphanhood to Family, aimed at solving the problem of orphanhood in the country, in particular, at creating favorable conditions under which Ukrainians could take more children from institutionalized institutions into their families, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
The goal of the project is to create an environment where no child grows up in isolation in an institutionalized setting, but has a chance to grow up in a caring and family environment.
The initiative focuses on the development of family-based care. In particular, it supports foster, patronage and adoptive families, as well as strengthening large foster families and providing comprehensive support to such families.
Family. From orphanhood to family involves creating decent living conditions for foster families, promoting their social integration, and creating conditions under which every family that has the desire and capacity to take on more children. Providing social, educational and psychological support to children and families. It also organizes rehabilitation of orphans and children deprived of parental care, families of military personnel and war victims.
“The goal of the Ruslan Shostak Charitable Foundation is to enable every Ukrainian child to grow up in a family. To ensure the right to family warmth, safety, comfort and development. That is why we have launched a large project called Family. From orphanhood to family. It consists of several components aimed at promoting adoption as such, supporting existing large foster families, social, educational and health initiatives that will improve the lives of Ukrainian children right now. We have deep expertise in working with orphans, children deprived of parental care and large foster families. At the beginning of the full-scale war, we organized the largest evacuation of orphans since World War II as part of the Childhood Without War project. As part of this project, we, together with our partners, sheltered and provided conditions for the living, education, and development of 3500 children and their accompanying persons in Turkey for more than 1000 days,”says Yevhenia But, CEO of the Ruslan Shostak Charitable Foundation, at .
The first step of the project will be initiatives to provide large foster families with the vehicles they need. In particular, minivans and minibuses with a capacity of up to 12 passengers, which will allow such families to be more mobile.
Large foster families take care of five to ten children. Usually, these families live in villages or small towns, so having their own safe, reliable and roomy vehicle is the only way for them to go on business, to the doctor, to school or on vacation with the whole family.
In addition, owning a vehicle will motivate them to expand their families and take in children from institutionalized care who need family warmth.
