Famous restaurateur Igor Sukhomlin died: he fought to the last

Ihor Sukhomlyn, a well-known restaurateur and owner of the Baluvana Halya dumpling shop chain, has passed away. This was reported by his wife, Khrystyna Sukhomlyn, on her Facebook page, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

According to her, Ihor was treated in Germany, but the disease proved to be stronger.

“He fought to the last, but the disease won. Ihor passed away in peace, without pain, surrounded by his closest people,” Khrystyna Sukhomlyn wrote.

The cremation will take place in Munich, where he was treated, and the ashes will be buried in Barcelona.

Ihor Sukhomlyn is one of the most famous Ukrainian restaurateurs.

He owned or co-founded the following establishments:
“Baluvana Galya” dumpling restaurant,
chashka coffee shop
buba hinkalna,
velurov restaurant,
charlotte confectionery,
fish & Pussycat, Forever Young, Fishkultura, Mimosa Burger, and Bus Station.

In May 2025, Sukhomlyn opened Mimosa Brooklyn Pizza in the center of Warsaw, a continuation of the brand that was born in Kyiv.

He also collaborated with entrepreneur Valeriy Halperin, with whom he created a number of successful gastronomic projects.
