“Busification” does not work, we need monetary motivation – expert

Ukraine should abandon the practice of forced mobilization of persons liable for military service. This was stated by lawyer Vitaliy Baranovsky in an interview with the YouTube channel "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to him, the state should focus not on coercive methods but on motivation.
“We are talking about financial motivation. 20 thousand of allowance for a soldier is a rather small amount. I mean basic support, without additional payments for participation in hostilities on the front lines,” he said.
The lawyer emphasized that for many families, the mobilization of a man means the loss of the main breadwinner.
“If the head of the family is mobilized, someone has to provide for the family. Some people have two children, a wife, elderly parents, plus utilities and the constant rise in food prices.
I think that the minimum salary for a soldier should be at least 50-70 thousand hryvnias per month. This would definitely be more effective than coercive methods,” he said.
