Some women MPs are allowed to travel abroad: Cabinet of Ministers promulgates resolution

1 September 23:44

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has published a resolution allowing women deputies of local councils to leave Ukraine during martial law. The relevant document was published on the government portal, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

As stated in the decree, the ban on crossing the state border no longer applies to women deputies of local councils. However, this does not apply to local government officials.

The government has also instructed local governments to provide the State Border Guard Service with lists of persons and to submit updated information in case of personnel changes. The Cabinet of Ministers recommended doing this within three days.

The day before, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced that the government had allowed women deputies of local councils who work on a voluntary basis to travel abroad.

According to her, previously they could not go “even on a legal vacation to see their relatives or bring aid for our military.” This also limited volunteer activities and forced some to give up their mandate. The new decision removes these barriers.
