More than 200 DJI Matrice reconnaissance drones for five brigades of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, worth a total of about $800,000, were handed over to the Ukrainian Defense Forces on Saturday with the assistance of the Ukrainian Embassy in the Czech Republic and the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This was reported on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga, the units that will receive the equipment include Azov, Lyut, the 21st Separate Mechanized Brigade, which is under the jurisdiction of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the STRIKS unmanned systems unit.
“When we talk about diplomacy during wartime, we often imagine negotiating tables, international summits, or complex sanctions decisions. But diplomacy today also means concrete support for our soldiers on the front lines. These drones were purchased with charitable donations collected in the Czech Republic. This is the result of the joint work of diplomats, partners, and caring people who understand that supporting Ukraine is not just words, but actions,” Sibiga said, emphasizing that “reconnaissance drones will help save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers, contribute to the accuracy of decisions, and give us an advantage on the battlefield.”
“When these drones were being loaded, everyone got to work — from the attaché to the deputy minister. No titles or offices. Just a team that knows why it is doing this. For us, this is not a one-time initiative. This is systematic work,” the Foreign Ministry’s website quotes the minister as saying.
