Cherkasy region gets a new corn plant: what it will bring to the region and the market

In Cherkasy region, Zolotonosha Bacon, a member of the Time investment group, is completing the construction of a new AMILL-CORN plant . The company will specialize in corn processing and will be able to process up to 100 thousand tons of grain per year. This was reported by Latifundist.com, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to the company, the plant will operate using modern quality control technologies and will produce not only cereals and flour of various fractions, but also feed waste to be used in livestock production.
Who is behind the project
Time Group already has a strong agri-food business in the region. It owns
- farmers’ Market in Cherkasy (12,541 m²)
- cabest enterprise (cream and sugar production),
- charlotte confectionery factory,
- a pig farm in the village of Krupske,
- about 2, 500 cows on its own farms.
The new plant will be part of the expansion of the company’s vertically integrated business model.
Why it is important
The launch of AMILL-CORN is of strategic importance for Cherkasy region and the Ukrainian agricultural sector:
- Localization of processing: instead of exporting raw materials, the region will be able to produce products with higher added value.
- Jobs: the company will create new jobs in the local labor market.
- Business sustainability: feed waste can be used in the group’s livestock production, reducing dependence on external suppliers.
The launch of new processing facilities is becoming a trend in Ukraine. Only in recent months:
- the first stage of a vegetable storage facility with controlled gas environment technology was completed in Vinnytsia region,
- ukraine’s first solar-powered polyethylene pipe plant was launched in Irpin,
- golden Agro is investing in the modernization of its oil pressing plant in Izmail.
All of this indicates a shift in emphasis from exporting raw materials to developing domestic production aimed at domestic and foreign markets.
The AMILL-CORN plant is expected to be launched in the near future. In the long run, it may become an important player in the Ukrainian grain processing market and strengthen the competitiveness of Cherkasy region as an agricultural center.
