President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has not yet decided who will be appointed to replace Andriy Yermak as head of the Presidential Office.
This was reported by Dmytro Lytvyn, the President’s Communications Advisor, "Komersant Ukrainian", citing RBC-Ukraine.
“The president is still deciding on the format of the Office’s future work, and wants to evaluate the ideas that have been presented in some time,” Lytvyn said.
At the same time, he added that today’s appointment of Oksana Markarova as an advisor on Ukraine’s reconstruction and investment does not yet concern personnel appointments in the Presidential Office.
Yermak’s resignation
As a reminder, on Friday morning, November 28, NABU detectives and SAPO prosecutors came to the office of the Head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, with searches.
Later, Yermak confirmed the searches, noting that he was cooperating with the investigation and that his lawyers were in contact with law enforcement.
According to RBC-Ukraine, these actions may be related to the Midas investigation. This is a large-scale corruption scheme in the energy sector. It involves businessman and co-owner of Kvartal-95 Timur Mindich and a number of other former high-ranking officials.
The same day after the searches, President Zelenskyy announced that Yermak had written a letter of resignation. Shortly thereafter, he signed a decree dismissing him.
