The run-up to the Christmas and New Year holidays traditionally sees an increase in demand for food, particularly sausages and deli meats. Accordingly, prices in supermarkets are rising.

This was warned by economist Volodymyr Chyzh in a commentary to Novyny .LIVE.

According to the expert, the price of products in this segment will rise, but the dynamics will not necessarily be significant. Prices are expected to rise by an average of 8-12%.

“The pre-holiday period is the time of maximum demand for sausages, ham, salami and other delicacies. In December, prices may increase by 8-12%, especially for products of the middle and premium segment,” said Volodymyr Chyzh.

The economist also added that prices for budget types of sausages will increase minimally.
