Where curfew restrictions will be eased: government explains conditions
15 January 22:44
In areas affected by the energy emergency, curfew restrictions may be eased. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
This applies to regions that have been most affected by Russian attacks on energy infrastructure and where there have been prolonged interruptions in electricity and heat supply.
“The emergency response headquarters or the regional military administration may determine additional measures to ease the curfew, taking into account the situation on the ground. The territory where these curfew relaxations will apply will be determined by the TEB and NS commission,” the head of government said.
What will be allowed during curfew
According to the head of government, if the relevant decisions are made, certain exceptions will be allowed for citizens during curfew.
In particular, without special passes, it will be permitted to:
- be on the streets and in public places,
- visit shopping and entertainment centers that serve as points of resilience, warming centers, or support for the population and businesses,
- use private transport.
The government emphasizes that such facilities must meet the following mandatory requirements:
heating, autonomous power supply, stable communication. At the same time, entertainment establishments are not subject to these relaxations.
Who will make the decision
The final parameters for easing the curfew will be determined locally.
The right to establish additional measures will be granted to:
- emergency response headquarters,
- regional military administrations (OVA).
The areas where the easing will apply will be determined by the Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies (TES and ES).
The first meeting of this commission on the relevant issue is scheduled for the nearest day.
