The Ukrainian delegation has arrived in Geneva to participate in a new round of international negotiations, which will begin on February 17. The main topics of the meetings will be security issues, the humanitarian situation, and further steps to achieve a just and lasting peace. This was announced by the head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, on his Telegram channel, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
Ukrainian delegation ready for talks
According to Rustem Umerov, the Ukrainian side has already arrived in Geneva and completed preparations for the trilateral talks.
The next round of trilateral talks will begin on February 17.
“The agenda has been agreed upon, and the team is ready to work. We look forward to constructive work and substantive meetings on security and humanitarian issues — in order to move towards a dignified and sustainable peace,” Umerov said.
The talks are expected to include discussions on key aspects of security, stability in the region, humanitarian initiatives, and mechanisms to end hostilities.
Zelensky confirmed the arrival of the delegation
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also confirmed the arrival of the Ukrainian delegation in Geneva and stressed the importance of international support.
In his evening address, the head of state said:
“We expect our partners to take action to ensure that the aggressor is forced to make peace.”
The president stressed that Ukraine expects concrete results from the negotiations, which could be an important step towards ending the war and ensuring long-term security.
