An MP (according to the media – Mykola Tishchenko) will be tried for illegal deprivation of liberty of a person. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Prosecutor-General’s Office.

“Prosecutors of the Office of the Prosecutor General sent to court an indictment against the people’s Deputy of Ukraine on the fact of illegal deprivation of liberty of a person,” – stated in the message.

Tishchenko is accused of illegal deprivation of liberty of a military man in Dnipro – he was held for a certain time and used physical force. For this the people’s Deputy faces up to 5 years in prison.

What happened in Dnipro on June 20, 2024

on June 20, the people’s Deputy Mykola Tishchenko with a group of persons was in the city of Dnipro allegedly to fight against illegal call centers. There he and his guards had a conflict situation with a former serviceman of the special unit of the GUR “Kraken” Dmitry “Son” Pavlov. The video shows that Tishchenko’s guards, including a policeman, detained the military man and used force against him. The reason for this was allegedly that the serviceman made a remark about the military uniform of Tishchenko’s guards.

The video became so resonant that Tishchenko was even disowned by his cousin – head of the Office of the President Andrei Yermak, who called such behavior disgraceful.

The police opened proceedings on the fact of the conflict and, according to media reports, fired a police officer from Tishchenko’s company – an employee of the National Police Department of Kyiv Pisarenko Bohdan Olegovich.

As it turned out, one of Tishchenko’s guards was a Poltava regional council deputy from OPZZh Savchenko Serhiy Petrovych.

Tishchenko himself said that ex-serviceman Pavlov took away the phone from his assistant and attacked the policeman.

The next day, June 21, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak said that Tishchenko’s behavior is disgraceful and he should surrender his parliamentary mandate. A few days earlier, the GBI officers searched Tyshchenko’s house. During the search they found and seized several bundles of cash.

During the search, Tishchenko smashed his cell phone and refused to give his last name at the request of the investigator. He also asked the investigators to leave him the seized cash. He said that it was the last money and now he has no means of subsistence.

on June 25, the Kiev Pecherskyy court chose a preventive measure for the MP: it satisfied the prosecutor’s petition, sending MP Mykola Tyshchenko under 24-hour house arrest for 60 days and wearing an electronic bracelet.
