MP Kostyukh on the dismissal of the head of Energoatom: “We will evaluate it later, but with Kotin the company has passed the biggest challenges”

An MP and a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee for Energy and Housing and Communal Services, Anatoliy Kostyukh, has commented for "Komersant Ukrainian" on Petro Kotin ‘s resignation from the post of acting chairman of the board of Enerhoatom.
According to the MP, the head’s work should be assessed primarily on the company’s performance results and full financial indicators, which have not yet been presented in full.
“Individual annual reports do not reveal the full picture, because since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, each year was completely different from the previous one. At the same time, it should be noted that the company coped with numerous challenges: large-scale shelling of the energy system, occupation of Zaporizhzhya NPP, additional load after the strikes on Ukrhydroenergo. Despite this, Energoatom has maintained stable operation and even continues to develop,” Mr. Kostyukh emphasized,

He emphasized that the company managed to retain a cohesive and capable team.
“Is there any merit of Pyotr Borisovich in this? As a manager – yes.”

At the same time, he noted that the final conclusions regarding the effectiveness of management can be made only after analyzing the full performance indicators of the company, which should be provided to the profile Committee of the Verkhovna Rada.
We will remind, yesterday the Supervisory Board of NAEK “Energoatom” satisfied the application of Petro Kotin on termination of his powers. He headed the company since 2020 – during the period that became the most difficult in the history of the Ukrainian nuclear industry.
The NAEK’s Supervisory Board has already said that a tender for the new head will be announced soon.
