Members of Parliament have fallen ill en masse: an epidemic investigation is being conducted in parliament
12 February 13:02
On Thursday, February 12, the Verkhovna Rada was unable to consider any of the planned issues due to a lack of votes. A significant number of MPs did not show up in parliament, some of them due to health problems.

MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported mass poisoning in the parliamentary canteen, while media sources say there is a possibility of a virus spreading, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
As a result, parliamentarians scheduled the next meeting for February 24, i.e., in 12 days.
“This is partly due to the poisoning of deputies (as reported yesterday in the canteen). Many are also away on business trips,” said MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
Media sources in the Verkhovna Rada confirmed that information about possible poisoning in the Verkhovna Rada cafeteria is currently being verified. Specialized services are checking food and the kitchen for the presence of E. coli and other dangerous bacteria. At the same time, sources reported that many of the sick MPs have symptoms that could be caused by rotavirus, including severe diarrhea, vomiting, high fever, and weakness.
Rotavirus outbreak in Bukovel
It should be noted that at the end of January, an outbreak of rotavirus was recorded in Bukovel. Several dozen people with similar symptoms were taken to the resort’s hospital at that time. The patients had severe diarrhea, vomiting, high fever, and weakness.
Why rotavirus is dangerous
As is well known, rotavirus is a virus that causes acute intestinal infection, most often in young children. It is transmitted through dirty hands, water, food, or other objects. The main symptoms are vomiting, diarrhea, fever, abdominal pain, and weakness. The main danger of rotavirus is dehydration, so it is important to drink plenty of fluids during the illness. There is a vaccine that significantly reduces the risk of severe infection.
