State Geology Agency without a leader: Cabinet accepts Oleg Gotsynets’ resignation

On January 7, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dismissed Oleg Gotsynets from the post of head of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil by mutual agreement. This was reported in a corresponding government decree, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
Gotsynets had headed the State Geological Service since November 2024.
Biography and career
Prior to his appointment as head of the State Geological Service, Gotsynets worked as:
- head of the subsoil use department at JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannya, Ukraine’s largest subsoil user with hundreds of special permits for oil and gas production;
- project manager at Naftogaz of Ukraine;
- an expert at the State Commission on Mineral Reserves.
His professional experience covers subsoil use management and mineral reserves assessment.
What is known about the dismissal
The dismissal took place by mutual agreement. So far, the government has not announced a candidate for the new head of the State Geological Service.
