State registers of the Ministry of Justice “went down” due to a large-scale cyberattack by the Russian Federation

The Russian Federation has carried out a cyberattack on state registers that are under the competence of the Ukrainian Justice Ministry and their work has been temporarily suspended, the Ukrainian deputy prime minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration, Justice Minister Olha Stefanyshyna, has said. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and Minister of Justice of Ukraine Olha Stefanyshyna, the Ukrainian news agency reported
“There was the most large-scale external cyberattack on the state registers of Ukraine in recent times.
As a result of a targeted attack, the work of the Unified and State Registers, which are under the competence of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, has been temporarily suspended. Now, together with the team and specialists of other services, we coordinate the work to counteract the cyberattack and restore the systems”, – said the Minister of Justice.
Stefanyshyna noted that the attack was carried out by Russians in order to disrupt the work of critical infrastructure of the state.
“Our specialists are working in a reinforced mode on the step-by-step restoration of access to the registers. According to the preliminary assessment, there are no threats to the functioning of other resources,” she added
She noted that the time of the priority update will be tentatively up to 2 weeks, and the provision of services to citizens will be provided during the day Friday.
In the first place will be restored:
- State register of civil status acts of citizens.
- The Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Physical Entrepreneurs.
- State register of rights to immovable property and their encumbrances.
