Dozens of high-ranking officials walked out of the UN Human Rights Council meeting in Geneva when Russia began to speak. In this way, they expressed support for Ukraine.

This was reported by Reuters, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

Among the delegates who left the meeting were the ambassadors of France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

“Our support for Ukraine is unshakable. We want to see a just and lasting peace in accordance with the UN Charter and international law. There can be no peace without Ukraine. Ukraine must be at the negotiating table,” British Ambassador to the UN and World Trade Organization Simon Manley told reporters.

The U.S. seat on the Human Rights Council remains empty following President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw from the body.

During the speech of Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin, he accused Ukraine of “gross violation of fundamental human rights”, alleged Russophobia and discrimination against Russians.

It is noted that dozens of countries united in support of Ukraine at a UN meeting in Geneva on Tuesday, the day after the UN Security Council adopted a US-drafted resolution on the anniversary of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

The event was dedicated to “resisting Russian aggression.”
