Women join the Ukrainian Legion, which is being formed in Poland, for the first time

The second group of Ukrainian citizens living abroad signed contracts with the Ukrainian Legion in Lublin and began training in Poland. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
Most of the new volunteers reportedly live in Poland, but there are also Ukrainian citizens from Denmark, the Czech Republic, Germany, Lithuania and other European countries. This time, for the first time, women joined the unit, choosing specialties related to medicine and communications.

In total, the Ukrainian Legion recruiting center has received about 1,300 applications for service.
“Today we have recruited more recruits than in November. This shows the growing confidence of our citizens in this initiative. We are getting motivated people who are conscious of their choice,” said Lieutenant Colonel Petro Gorkusha, a representative of the unit’s command.
After signing the contracts, the group of volunteers went to one of the training centers of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland to undergo basic military training. The training will take place under the guidance of Polish instructors and will use modern NATO weapons.

More than 36,000 Ukrainians have already applied for vacancies in the Defense Forces using the application.
The Ministry of Defense reported that users most often applied for vacancies in the staff service, transportation, and UAV units. Vacancies in infantry units and intelligence were also of high interest.

The most popular positions are:
– driver
– uAV operator of various types,
– mechanic-mechanic,
– scout,
– and a clerk.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the 12th Brigade of the Azov National Guard, the 14th Separate Regiment of the BpAK, the 13th Brigade of the Charter, the Logistics Forces and the SBU Special Forces received the most applications.
The service currently offers a large list of open positions in the Defense Forces – more than 5,000. And the number of offers is constantly growing.
