A cyclone is heading toward Ukraine: what will the weather be like on March 31, and where might there be wet snow?

The last day of March in Ukraine will bring a noticeable change in the weather. Following an unusually warm start to spring, a cyclone is moving into the country, bringing rain, increased cloud cover, and a drop in temperatures in some regions. The weather will be most unstable in the west, and the Carpathians are expected to see not only rain but also sleet.
Forecaster Natalka Didenko warned of deteriorating weather conditions, reports "Komersant Ukrainian"
According to her forecast, wet weather will prevail in Ukraine on March 31, and it will be noticeably colder in the west than in other regions.
What will the weather be like in Ukraine on March 31?
According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, precipitation is expected in Ukraine on March 31, and air temperatures will vary significantly depending on the region.
Temperatures are forecast to range from 3 to 10 degrees Celsius at night and from 11 to 19 degrees during the day, but in the western regions, it will be only 5–10 degrees Celsius. The wind will be predominantly southeasterly, 5–10 m/s.
Natalka Didenko notes that it will be colder in western Ukraine, where daytime temperatures are expected to be around 4–9 degrees. In the Carpathians, temperatures will be even lower, so wet snow is possible there.
At the same time, most other regions will be warmer—around 10–15 degrees.
Where will it be warmest
The warmest weather on March 31 is expected in the central and northeastern regions. According to the forecaster’s prediction, in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Cherkasy regions, as well as in the Kropyvnytskyi area, daytime temperatures may reach 14–19 degrees.
In other words, the difference between the west and the eastern part of the country will be significant: while wet snow is forecast in the Carpathians, in some regions the air will warm up to near-April levels.
What to expect in Kyiv
Rain is also forecast for the capital on March 31, but without a sharp drop in temperature. According to the weather forecast, Kyiv will see cloudy skies with occasional rain, and daytime temperatures will rise to 13–15 degrees. Across the region, temperatures will range from 5–10 degrees at night and 11–16 degrees during the day.
Natalka Didenko also notes that March in Kyiv will end with rain, but relatively warm weather—around 15 degrees.
What will the weather be like at the start of the week?
According to forecasts, the wet weather will continue. Meteorologists expect next week in Ukraine to be mostly rainy, with periodic precipitation and unstable atmospheric conditions.
