The dollar is falling, the euro is rising: exchange rates as of January 26

The National Bank of Ukraine has updated the official exchange rates for foreign currencies for Monday, January 26. According to the regulator, at the beginning of the week, the hryvnia showed moderate strengthening against the US dollar, while weakening against the euro and the Polish zloty.

Official NBU exchange rates for January 26

According to the updated figures, the official US dollar exchange rate is set at 43.14 UAH/USD. For comparison, on Friday, January 23, it was 43.17 UAH/USD, so the national currency strengthened by about 3 kopecks.

The euro exchange rate, on the other hand, went up. The European currency rose in price by almost 13 kopecks — to 50.65 UAH/EUR against 50.52 UAH/EUR at the end of last week.

Situation on the interbank market

On the interbank currency market of Ukraine, the hryvnia-dollar exchange rate was in the range of 43.13/43.16 UAH/USD.

At the same time, the euro traded at 50.62/50.63 UAH/EUR.

Zloty exchange rate on January 26

The Polish zloty also rose in price.

The NBU set the exchange rate at 12.05 UAH/zloty, which is approximately 4 kopecks higher than on Friday (12.01 UAH).

It should be noted that global precious metals markets have reached historic highs. The price of silver exceeded $100 per ounce for the first time in history, while gold set a new record and approached the psychological mark of $5,000.
